Quality Policy

The Quality Manual serves as the principles reference document for the implementation of the University's Quality Management System (QMS). It outlines the scope of the QMS, quality policy, key processes, roles, responsibilities, and quiding principles that underpin quality management practises across the institution.

The manual provides clear guidance to Responsibility Centres (PTj) and relevant stakeholders in executing their functions in a systematic, consistent, and transparent manner. It ensures alignment with the requirements of MS ISO 9001:2015, while supporting continual improvement, accountability, and the effective management of risks and opportunities.

UNIMAS has successfully obtained certification for its updated QMS scope under MS ISO 9001:2015 through SIRIM QAS International, effective 20 November 2025. The certification covers the provision of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning services, reflecting the University’s commitment to strengthening its core academic functions in accordance with internationally recognised standards.

This achievement demonstrates UNIMAS’ continuous commitment to quality assurance, customer focus, compliance with requirements, and the continual enhancement of service delivery.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS)

At Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), the QMS serves as a comprehensive framework that ensures all academic, administrative, and support processes are implemented in a structured, consistent, and quality-driven manner.

The QMS at UNIMAS is designed to enhance operational efficiency, standardize work practices, and ensure that services delivered meet stakeholder expectations as well as regulatory requirements. Through systematic planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement, the University is able to strengthen its performance and accountability across all levels.

Aligned with internationally recognized standards such as ISO 9001:2015, the QMS provides a robust mechanism for managing quality through internal audits, performance evaluation, corrective actions, and management reviews.
