All staff and students of the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology are required to uphold the principles of safety, proficiency, and dedication during fieldwork, in accordance with the Faculty’s Health and Safety Operational Guidelines for Fieldwork. These guidelines ensure that every field activity is conducted responsibly and with proper preparation, while also reinforcing the importance of appreciating the natural environment an experience that remains at the heart of biological fieldwork.

In line with the state's commitment to environmental sustainability, UNIMAS follows the Sarawak Water Discharge Guidelines and Standards to ensure responsible management of water discharge. These practices are in place to maintain water quality and protect the local ecosystem, ensuring that all water discharge from the university's operations complies with the regulatory standards set by the relevant authorities.
