1. | Since the establishment of Bucida Square at UNIMAS in 2022, the 500 Tree Planting Project by Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) and UNIMAS has emerged as a key low-carbon initiative to combat climate change. The project was officially launched during the Faculty of Engineering and iSure Research Open Day, where four Bucida trees were planted to mark the beginning of this environmental effort. Titled "Low Carbon Initiatives: Let's Plant 500 Trees," the project was officially commenced on November 1, 2023. Led by the Faculty of Engineering staff and students, in collaboration with the UNIMAS Landscape Unit, the Development Office, and the University Sustainable Centre (USC), the initiative seeks to make a significant contribution to sustainability. The FENG Club and the 500 Tree Planting Committee are also providing a unique opportunity for final-year engineering students to plant and care for their own trees. This initiative aims to create lasting memories and instill a deep sense of responsibility for environmental stewardship among the students. | |||||||||||||
