1.
Inclusive conservation through partnerships with local communities is essential for preserving natural resources. In Sarawak, WWF-Malaysia collaborates with indigenous communities, empowering them to make independent decisions, implement sustainable livelihood initiatives, and co-manage their natural resources.

UNIMAS plays a crucial role in fostering this collaborative approach. The 10th eBorneo Knowledge Fair (eBKF), organized by UNIMAS, serves as a platform to bridge the gap between stakeholders and indigenous communities. The event, held over three days, promotes understanding and cooperation among various agencies, indigenous peoples, and non-indigenous groups to address issues like deforestation, climate change, and pollution. Through knowledge exchange and community engagement, UNIMAS strengthens partnerships that are vital for sustainable development.
2.
Around 1,000 residents of Kampung Bahagia Jaya will benefit from a community gardening program implemented in collaboration between UNIMAS and the local community. This initiative utilizes modern agricultural practices and aims to engage over 3,000 participants across three phases. The program supports the government's goal of enhancing food security by 2030. UNIMAS’s Vice-Chancellor highlighted this effort as an opportunity for university staff and students to contribute meaningfully to the community, alongside other service programs in the area.
