The International Anti-Corruption Day (HARA) 2024 Sarawak Zone celebration at UNIMAS highlighted the vital role of youth in combating corruption at its roots. Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Dr. Juanda Jaya, urged young people to leverage modern technology as agents of change in the fight against corruption. The Sarawak Government remains committed to implementing various anti-corruption education initiatives to nurture a generation built on integrity.

UNIMAS formally launched an anti-corruption advocacy plan and held a virtual exhibition under the Malaysian Public University Integrity Officers Council, during which Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahmad Hata Rasit led an integrity pledge. The ceremony reaffirmed the university’s determination to be corruption-free by strengthening governance and ethical values across its community. Under the theme “Sustainability in Inclusivity,” the event aligned with the Ministry of Higher Education’s efforts to promote accountability and reduce corruption in higher education, emphasizing that ethical conduct requires the involvement of everyone from top leadership to all university members.
