1. | The Zero Tolerance for Violence @ Anti-Sexual Harassment Advocacy Program, organized by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), was held at universities nationwide to raise awareness due to the increasing cases of violence and sexual harassment. Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri stated that the program aims to ensure university students remain aware of issues related to sexual harassment and violence. She also highlighted the establishment of the Anti-Sexual Harassment Tribunal (TAGS) as a timely platform to represent victims.“As of December 2024, 25 cases have been reported under TAGS. Although the tribunal only began operating in March this year, it has already handled 25 cases. This shows growing awareness, and TAGS is becoming an important avenue to support victims,” she said. The program, held at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), encourages strategic collaboration among various stakeholders to enhance prevention and awareness of sexual harassment, particularly among university students, women, and men. Key highlights included introductions to TAGS, Anti-Sexual Harassment advocacy sessions, a talk on cyberbullying prevention, and a Townhall session with Nancy.Around 2,000 participants, including UNIMAS students and lecturers, nearby public universities, government agencies, and NGOs, took part in the event. | |||||||||||||
