University Sustainability Centre, UNIMAS is a member of BSN - a Borneo-based framework of research and studies organizations, allowing the coordination across the institutions of higher education and research centers in the island of Borneo with a partnership approach. As a precursor of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in Borneo studies, BSN constitutes a bridge towards Borneo’s research, innovation, and studies capacities to foster Borneo competitiveness.

UNIMAS is strengthening its global partnerships to support Sarawak’s net-zero ambition through collaboration with Accenture and the World Economic Forum’s Malaysia Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. A workshop titled “Progressing Industrial Collaboration towards a Net-Zero Cluster Concept” brought together over 50 representatives from industry, academia, and government to explore sustainable industrial development. Discussions focused on renewable energy, green hydrogen, and clean technology investments to build Sarawak’s first net-zero industrial cluster—driving green growth, innovation, and sustainable economic progress for the state.

UNIMAS, through the Faculty of Built Environment, actively contributed to the 8th Sabah International Surveyors Congress themed “AI and Land Governance.” The event gathered international experts to discuss innovative approaches in data collection and management aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UNIMAS lecturer Sr Sitti Diana binti Tamjehi presented research on the use of Artificial Intelligence in construction projects, highlighting its potential to enhance efficiency and sustainability. This participation strengthened UNIMAS’s international collaboration in advancing data-driven solutions for sustainable development.
