1. | The Agrotechnology full time programme is offered for 8 semesters, with the minimum credit required to graduate being 129 credits. This programme will be conducted using an industry mode 2u2i structure where students will undertake courses at the university for three years (3u), and one year (1i) in the industry. The focus of the curriculum of this programme is the combination of basic agriculture and the application of current agricultural technology by taking into account the strategic position of the state of Sarawak which is rich in diversity of agricultural resources. Moreover, the programme will focus on modernising the agricultural sector to ensure food security. | |||||||||||||
2. | UNIMAS strengthened its global collaboration in agrotechnology by participating in the Executive Meeting of the 9th International Conference on Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources (FANRes 2024) in Makassar, Indonesia. Represented by Dr. Walftor Dumin from the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, UNIMAS showcased its expertise through the Agrotechnology Programme and UNIMAS Agro Research Centre (UARC), exploring partnerships with regional and international institutions such as Hasanuddin University. The discussions focused on joint initiatives in sustainable agriculture, digital farming, pest and disease management, and climate-resilient practices, positioning UNIMAS as a growing global partner in agricultural innovation and potentially a future host for FANRes events | |||||||||||||
