1. | Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has launched its Lemari Madani HELP_A food aid cabinet to assist its students in need of food. Operated by the university’s Student Affairs and Alumni Office (HEPA), it is an initiative aimed at helping students in need. Donations collected come in the form of food and drinks, and HEPA also receives donations from UNIMAS staff as well as external parties. | |||||||||||||
2. | In March 2024, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) implemented the 6th edition of Program Kasih Insani, benefiting 1,338 students across 10 faculties with a total allocation of RM761,511 and 2,000 boxes of ready-to-eat meals (MREs). The programme provided comprehensive support including living allowances, laptops, food aid, and meals for breaking fast during Ramadan to assist underprivileged students. In addition, UNIMAS also operates Butik Kasih, an initiative under the Endowment and Wakaf Division, offering free traditional attire such as baju kurung and baju Melayu to students in need reflecting the university’s continued commitment to student welfare and well-being. | |||||||||||||
