1.

All food outlets within Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) including cafeterias, kiosks, and vending areas operate under the university’s food service guidelines established by the Student Affairs Division (HEPA) and the Sustainability Unit to ensure accessibility, affordability, and nutritional value. These outlets offer a wide variety of meals such as local Sarawakian favorites, Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Western cuisines at student-friendly prices, with breakfast options starting as low as RM1.50. Strategically located across faculties, residential colleges, and public areas, these outlets ensure that students and staff can conveniently access balanced meals throughout the day, reflecting UNIMAS’s commitment to inclusivity and food security for all on campus.

2.

Certain designated outlets at UNIMAS play a more specialized role in supporting the Zero Hunger and Sustainability Agenda by providing healthy and environmentally responsible meal options. These selected cafeterias implement the Menu Sihat UNIMAS and Menu Rahmah UNIMAS programmes, offering nutritious meals priced between RM3–RM5 to help meet the needs of B40 students. They also adopt eco-friendly practices such as reducing single-use plastics, sourcing ingredients from local suppliers, and incorporating farm-to-table concepts through the use of produce from UNIMAS’ community gardens and faculty-led agropreneurship projects. Through these targeted initiatives, UNIMAS promotes both student well-being and environmental sustainability within its campus food ecosystem.
