The Hapus Malaria programme, initiated by the CreativeCulture team, focuses on raising malaria awareness and prevention through creative and community-based approaches in rural Sarawak. It engages local communities, including those living in longhouses, through interactive activities such as educational games, demonstrations, and cultural performances that make learning about health and hygiene both fun and memorable. The programme promotes preventive measures like the correct use of mosquito nets, the importance of personal protection when working in forests, and early detection of malaria symptoms. Supported by student volunteers and local partners, Hapus Malaria exemplifies how outreach initiatives can effectively promote health and well-being in underserved areas by combining education, culture, and play to encourage sustainable behavioural change.

The Program KPT Prihatin Madani, organised by Hospital Pengajar UNIMAS, is an ongoing outreach initiative held in multiple series throughout the year to promote community health and well-being. The 26th series, held on 21 September 2024 at Kampung Pueh, Sematan, brought together 70 UNIMAS volunteers and 12 staff members from Klinik Pergigian Lundu to provide free health screenings, medical consultations, dental care, vision checks, and home-based rehabilitation for the elderly and people with disabilities. The programme also distributed medications, food baskets to B40 families, and hygiene kits to preschool and primary school students. Attended by local leaders including YB Azizul Annuar Pehin Sri Haji Adenan, the event fostered strong collaboration between UNIMAS, healthcare professionals, and the local community—reflecting the programme’s ongoing commitment to improving public health and promoting well-being across rural Sarawak
