1. | UNIMAS offers access to educational resources for individuals who are not enrolled at the university. For instance, through the UNIMAS Digital Content platform, the public can explore a variety of UNIMAS publications via the UNIMAS Institutional Repository (IR). The UNIMAS IR is designed to collect, preserve, manage, and share the digital intellectual output and assets of the university, with the goal of enhancing the visibility of UNIMAS authors and researchers. Additionally, UNIMAS provides Open Access Educational Resources in audio format, which are freely accessible materials that can be used, shared, and adapted at no cost.
2. | At UNIMAS, learning isn’t confined solely to enrolled students — the university extends its resources beyond the campus doors through its “Learners for Life@UNIMAS” portal, making educational opportunities accessible to professionals, community members and individuals from across society. On this platform, UNIMAS offers a wide range of short-courses, micro-credentials, professional and executive programmes — including online learning options and certification opportunities. By providing free (or broadly accessible) access to educational resources — such as online courses, flexible learning modules, and tailored training tracks — Learners for Life empowers learners outside the traditional university enrolment system to upskill, reskill or explore new fields. Furthermore, while the publicly visible information focuses primarily on the online training and certification features, this initiative reflects a broader commitment by UNIMAS to open up its knowledge ecosystem: offering digital access, learning dashboards and self-paced training opportunities. For learners who are not full-time students at UNIMAS, this means being able to tap into a higher-education environment, benefit from its expertise, and build credentials without needing to be formally enrolled in degree programmes. In doing so, UNIMAS fosters a lifelong-learning culture, promoting the idea that education remains open and evolving — that learning does not stop at matriculation, and that access to knowledge can be broadened beyond formal student status.
