“Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Edu-Tourism Student Mobility Program: Fostering Patient Safety through Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practices (IPECP)”:

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) at UNIMAS hosted a two-week international student mobility programme from 9 to 20 September 2024 for 20 nursing and medical students from Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), Indonesia, aimed at enhancing cross‐border cooperation and interprofessional collaboration in healthcare.

During the programme, students engaged in lectures, simulation training (on infection control, medication safety, resuscitation teamwork), hospital visits, and a community outreach project in Kampung Pichin, Serian, applying interprofessional education and collaborative practice (IPECP) principles in real-world and cultural settings.

The initiative underscored the importance of multidisciplinary teamwork, communication and mutual respect in health professional education, while also strengthening ties between Malaysia and Indonesia in healthcare training and mobility.
