2. | The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (PALAPES Udara) at UNIMAS commenced on September 23, 1996, when representatives from the university engaged in discussions with the Malaysian Ministry of Defense, specifically the Reserve Forces Division and Training MK TD Division, to establish this unit in Sarawak. Following these discussions, the Ministry of Defense expressed readiness to provide assistance, support, and collaboration upon UNIMAS obtaining approval from the Ministry of Education Malaysia. | |||||||||||||
3. | UNIMAS actively encourage and promote applications by women in fields and subjects where they are traditionally underrepresented. This is achieved through collaborative efforts, whether through university outreach initiatives and partnerships. Among the initiatives that have been implemented by UNIMAS are : Yayasan Asia dengan kerjasama AWS anjur acara rangkaian di UNIMAS The Asia Foundation, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), organized a networking event at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) on May 24. The event emphasized the importance of networking and mentorship in supporting young women to start careers in STEM fields.
It is suggested that UNIMAS could become an OKU-friendly university recognized by UNICEF. She offered to assist in inviting UNICEF for a discussion and situation analysis. Currently, UNIMAS has 67 students with special needs, including 40 males and 27 females, with 56 pursuing bachelor’s and 11 pursuing master’s degrees. |
