UNIMAS refers Malaysia's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) policy to promote sustainability and benefit to its stakeholders and implementing the United Nations' 17 global objectives for sustainable development.

  • Phases - The policy is implemented in three phases, each lasting five years, from 2016 to 2030. 
  • Goals - The policy aims to address national challenges while promoting sustainable development and international collaboration. Some of the goals include: 
    • Reducing poverty 
    • Ensuring equal rights to economic resources and basic services 
    • Building resilience to climate change and other shocks 
    • Mobilizing resources to end poverty 
  • Roadmap - The National SDG Roadmap provides a clear direction for implementing the 2030 Agenda. The roadmap identifies priority areas and strategies to advance the SDG agenda. 
  • Commitment - Malaysia has committed to being carbon neutral by 2050. 
  • Progress - Malaysia has achieved 43% of its SDG goals, which is higher than the global average of 17%.
