An inspiring event celebrated PETROS’ journey in establishing the Low-Carbon Solutions Hub in Sarawak, officiated by YB Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Deputy Premier of Sarawak. A key highlight was the MOU exchange between PETROS and UNIMAS, marking the beginning of a Baseline Study and Community Engagement project in Belaga and Sungai Asap, Bintulu, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rafeah Wahi from the University Sustainability Center (USC). This collaboration aims to advance sustainable development through understanding local needs and crafting context-driven solutions. The event also featured interactive exhibitions and community showcases, highlighting PETROS’ achievements and milestones over the past seven years.

Held in conjunction with the National Climate Governance Summit (NCGS) 2024, this offsite workshop will offer practical insights into how low-carbon living can help mitigate climate change. Participants will benefit from expert talks on emerging food technologies and their role in reducing climate footprints, as well as take part in group discussions focused on real-world sustainability challenges and practical, collaborative solutions.
