1.

UNIMAS has developed a comprehensive network of pedestrian walkways that connect academic buildings, hostels, recreational areas, and key campus facilities, prioritizing safety, accessibility, and sustainability. These walkways are often covered and landscaped, integrating green spaces to provide a pleasant walking environment with shaded rest areas and seating. Clear signage, lighting, and designated crossings ensure safe movement, while the network encourages walking over short-distance vehicle use, supporting the university’s carbon-reduction and sustainable mobility goals. Moreover, the pedestrian pathways are designed to seamlessly link with initiatives like the ART Blue Line feeder routes, enhancing accessibility for students, staff, and visitors and creating a campus that is navigable, eco-friendly, and conducive to both daily commuting and leisure.

2.

Among the initiatives undertaken by UNIMAS to promote sustainability is a sustainable commuting campaign, encouraging the use of electric bicycles to reduce carbon emissions on campus and foster a green lifestyle. In addition, the university provides public bus services and a well-designed pedestrian network for students and staff, ensuring safe, accessible, and eco-friendly transportation options throughout the campus. These efforts collectively support UNIMAS’s commitment to sustainable mobility and a low-carbon campus environment.
